Tips for a Good Wedding Video

  • Keep things tidy:  If you’re getting ready in a hotel room move your suitcases out of site. If you’re getting ready at home, move unnecessary things and clutter out of the way – make some space for your videographer to move around. The more space, the more options you have to be creative

  • Nice Light: Get ready in an area with heaps of natural light. Natural light loves you and your skin loves natural light.

  • Relax:  Throughout the day try to forget that you’re being filmed and photographed, obviously that’s easier said than done. Looking at the camera or waiting for instructions can take away a little of the magic. Focus on each other and enjoy the day, be lost in the moment. Your videographer is there to capture your day as it unfolds, so relax into it, celebrate, dance, laugh, cry, hug, kiss and be your weird-selves.

  • Information: Well before the wedding date, there should be a sit-down meeting to discuss what is being looked for in the video.  Are there certain moments that need to be captured.  Will there be any surprises or choreographed dances.

  • Audio: Audio is very important to get right, it’s half the video.  And the best way to capture the best quality audio is at the source, so make sure there are microphones on both bride and groom for those important vows, as it only is said once.

  • Hiring a Wedding Videographer a must or a maybe?  The day literally flies by and there are special moments that are easily missed that a videographer can capture beautifully.

  • A lot of couples ask me if it’s worth getting coverage of their morning preparations. I believe it is a very important part of the day. Not only does filming before the ceremony get you and your bridal party used to being in front of the camera (a very foreign thing for most people) morning prep also adds to the chronology of the video. It creates excitement and anticipation for the aisle walk and lets be honest, who doesn’t like seeing their other half all nervous ‘n’ cute.
